DA-NIA to fast-track P11.2-B Jalaur Irrigation Project

Drilon urged Agriculture Secretary Proceso J. Alcala (middle) and NIA Administrator Antonio Nangel to fast-track the construction and completion of the JRMP2, funded under South Korea's official development assistance through its Export-Import Bank’s Economic Cooperation Fund. Construction is scheduled to commence in the second half of 2013. JRMP2 is the first large-scale multi-purpose irrigation project in the Visayas that will also provide electric power and potable water and irrigate 32,000 hectares of farmlands in Iloilo.
