Bohol RPC soon to rise

Agriculture Undersecretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat (2nd from right), Bohol Governor Edgar Chatto (2nd from left) and South Korean Ambassador Lee Hyuk (center) present the memorandum of agreement which awards to the town of Pilar a P150-million worth Rice Processing Center (RPC) capable of drying 40 tons of palay, and mill at the rate of three tons per hour, with a milling recovery of 60% to 65%. The RPC, which will buy palay from farmers at a premium, or P1 more per kilo versus the prevailing farmgate price, will benefit 26,000 farm-families and process harvest from 30,000 hectares of farmlands in the municipalities of Alicia, Batuan, Bilar, Candijay, Carmen, Catigbian, Dagohoy, Duero, Guindulman, Jagna, Pilar, Sagbayan, San Miguel, Sierra Bullones, Trinidad, Tubigon, Ubay, and Valencia . Also present during the inauguration were National Agribusiness Corporation President Honesto Baniqued (right), Pilar Mayor Wilson Pajo (left), and other DA, KOICA, and  Bohol local government officials.
