Central Visayas tops in the number of animals produced from the Artificial Insemination technology.  
    This was announced by Paul Limson, national coordinator of the  Unified Artificial  Insemination Program  (UNAIP) during the recently concluded 3rd AI Congress in Dumaguete City.    He also   cited   Region  7  as the only region – out of three pilot regions – of having actively sustained the program.  He  said that Region 7 has the biggest allocation in terms of    calf drop incentive for AI technicians .


    For her part, OIC  RED Angel  C.  Enriquez   stressed the role of the AI technicians in the quest for food security   with meat sufficiency, she said that DA  is also advocating for enough rice, which is the spirit behind the celebration of the National Year Of Rice.  She appreciated that the Rice Pledge  was recited at the start of the congress.
OIC RTD Joel Elumba cited the need for a sustained delivery of AI services to catch up with demand of animals  for meat and  breeding.   
          Regional AI Coordinator Rudito Mumar    acknowledged the guests and  participants which included UP Professor Jose Bautista, Federation of Cattle Raisers Association of the Philippines President Virgilio Badilla and NDA Administrator Grace Cenas, among others.MSPT
