Regional accomplishments on the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) can now be accessed on the internet.

According to Marina Hermoso,Regional Technical Director of the Department of Agriculture (DA RFO 7) , this is an important development in order to be efficient in serving the beneficiaries of the project. This was said during the recent training on web-based monitoring information system.

Hermoso added that with the said system, a project manager can browse and confirm the implementation of a project in any region.

According to RollieOyasan, training staff of the PRDP, the system divulges information such as when a program started and when it was accomplished, pictures of beneficiaries, location of the project and percentage of physical and financial accomplishment among others.

Oyasan said one will only have to surf to the web portal or address fos.daprdp.net/auth in order to access the said information.

Synchronization of physical targets with financial accomplishments has been one of the issues raised everytime the need arises for such reports.Oyasan said the system will solve the saidproblem as it automatically calculates numerical inputs.

PRDP projects are farm-to-market roads, bridges, communal irrigation systems, potable water system, postharvest and rural infrastructures, among others.

PRDP is a six-year national government platform funded by World Bank, for a modern and inclusive, value-chain oriented and climate-smart agriculture and fisheries sector. (Anna Delza S. Barimbao)
