Modernized Trading Center Launched in Dalaguete, Cebu

Agriculture Secretary Proceso J. Alcala led the launching of the Php 17.5M Dalaguete Agri-Pinoy Trading Center (DAPTC) in Brgy. Mantalongon, Dalaguete, Cebu.

The DAPTC is the first modern trading center established in Central Visayas. During the launching, Alcala switched on the electronic price monitoring board, where the farmers would know the prevailing or actual buying prices of vegetables both in Mantalongon and Carbon market. The farmers will know the price difference of vegetables in Carbon and Mantalongon.

Prior to the launching, Alcala visited Sitio Sigpit-Grancina, one of the pick up points (PUP) established in production areas. Farmers will deliver their produce in the PuPs and will do the sorting, packing and weighing of vegetables. From the PuPs, a vehicle will deliver their produce at the DAPTC. It is in the DAPTC where farmers and traders will do the actual trading based on the actual buying prices in Mantalongon.
