Farmers from selected barangays in Cebu City received farming inputs from the Department of Agriculture 7 under the urban agriculture program.

The said program is designed for the urban populace to engage into urban gardening. It also aims to produce safe foods which are available at home, and to minimize waste disposal through the use of recyclable garbage.

The distribution was spearheaded by DA-7 Regional Executive Director Atty. Salvador Diputado and Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña.

Mayor Osmeña encouraged the farmers to adopt urban gardening especially in civilized cities like Cebu City. He added that this planting system will provide fresh food and help the environment through recycling.
