Tienda Launches in Cebu

The Department of Agriculture Region 7 in partnership with Ayala Malls launched the TienDA sa Ayala at Ayala Center Cebu

on November 25-26, 2017.

TienDA is a marketing initiative which aims to allow farmers and fisherfolks to directly sell their produce to consumers at farmgate prices.

The event was led by Bernadette Romulo-Puyat – Undersecretary for Agribusiness and Marketing, Leo P. Cañeda – Director of DA Region 7, Agnes Magpale – Cebu Vice Governor, Clavel Tongco – Vice President of Ayala Land & Ayala Malls, and Jun Bisnar – President of Cebu Holdings Inc.

Exhibitors of the two-day activity included farmers and fisherfolk from region 6, 7, & 8. Region 6 exhibitors were the Kalibutan Society Inc., Organic Trading Post of Silay City, P4MP Toboso, Muy Bien Ventures, Leny’s Dried Fish, and Zarraga Integrated Diversified Organic and CANAMA Farmers Association.

Central Visayas exhibitors were the farmers of Adlaon, Cebu City, Busay, Cebu City, Growing Green Farm, Maria Resource Development Association, Taculing Multi-PurposeCooperative, Paylings Dried Seafoods, Fishers and Changemakers Inc (Balangay’s Best), Balilihan Association of Women for Development, Association of Individuals Moving for Progress, Canjulao League of Women, Bohol Dairy Producers Association, Bohol Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Bohol Ubi Growers Association, Kapunongan sa mga Bol-anong Organikong Mag-uuma, Sogod Barangay Food Terminal, Lamac Multi-Purpose Cooperative, aleriohan Irrigators Association, Cebu Organic Agriculture, Kyras Farm, and Siquijor Province Cassava Food Processors Association. While region 8, included the Andrely’s Farm, Nagkaisang Magsasaka ng Caibiran and VISMINDA Sibayan, Gravele Rele & Group, Rebecca Crisostomo, Ma. Cristina Navarro & Wilfredo Cadayong, Federation of Civil Society Organization of Dulag, and Tinaguban Farmers Association.
