DA-7 conducts Training on Organic Farming

The Organic Agriculture (OA) Program of the Department of Agriculture -Central Visayas (DA-CV) conducts a two-day Training on Organic Farming from March 26-27, 2018 in a hotel in Cebu City.

The training aims to promote and encourage farmers, organic enthusiasts and other stakeholders to go into organic farming. Through the organic way of farming, production system will sustain the health of the soil, the ecosystem and people.

Some 30 participants attended the training and undergo hands-on demonstration using the different organic concoctions like Indigenous Micro Organism (IMO), Fermented Plant and Fruit Juices, and Natural Microorganism Solution Made of Potatoes - JADAM Microbial Solution.

Among the topics to be discussed include the Basic Principles of Organic Agriculture, Revised Philippine National Standard on Organic Agriculture and Soil Amendments, Different Technologies Practiced on Organic Agriculture, and Identification of the Issues and Concerns in the Implementation of Organic Agriculture Program.
