CV holds Regional Organic Agriculture Congress

Organic Agriculture (OA) advocates, practitioners, farmers, and Local Government Units (LGUs) in region 7 converged for a two-day activity (June 27-28, 2018) in Dauin, Negros Oriental.

With the theme "Organikong Pagpanguma, Palambo-on ug Palig-onon ta alang sa Himsog nga Kinaiyahan ug Kultura, the activity aims to support the promotion for the development of the OA in the region. It also aims to increase awareness on the benefits of OA to the consumers.

Atty. Salvador D. Diputado, Regional Executive Director of DA7 said that there is a proposal for a convergence of activities of the four agencies-Agriculture (DA), Labor and Employment (DOLE), Agrarian Reform (DAR) and Trade and Industry (DTI) on Emergency Employment and Livelihood Opportunities, which if it will push, one priority is to provide fund for research and laboratory station facilities for the production of organic feeds for the farmers.

Governor Roel Degamo of Negros Oriental expressed his commitment and support for the OA program.
