DA7 holds Feeding Program to save Rice and Promote Nutrition

With the DA's effort to help curb malnutrition and attain rice sufficiency, the agency held a feeding program to 1,500 beneficiaries. This is in coordination with the ABS-CBN Halad sa Kapamilya in Cebu Technological University.

DA-7 Regional Executive Director Atty. Salvador Diputado approved this program to also promote the advocacy to save rice by eating brown rice and other rice alternative such as corn and rootcrops. The food served in the feeding program has a mix of brown rice and vegetables. Recipients had a positive response of the program, and some became aware of the health benefits of brown rice and that of the ways to save rice by consuming the right amount of rice serve in every meal. The feeding program was conducted by the DA7 representatives of its different divisions headed by the information group.
