43 Farmers Receive Cattles under SAAD

Forty-three farmers from Dauin, Negros Oriental received 43 heads of cattle as partial distribution for the projects under the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) program of the Department of Agriculture – 7 (DA-7).

Engr. Eugene C. Cahiles, Chief of the Regulatory Division and Regional Focal Person of SAAD said that the distribution is part of the proposed cattle fattening program for the municipality which cost about Php 4 Million for the total 114 heads of cattle. Each beneficiary will receive one cattle and will fill-up some required documents to include Memorandum On Agreement (MOA), Property Acknowledgement Receipt, and Certificate of Turnover and Acceptance. He also reminded the beneficiaries to follow the agreements given by the program.

Mayor Neil B. Credo of Dauin expressed his gratitude to the DA for the project. “Out of 35,000 population in our municipality, some 114 farmers were privileged to receive the project. You have to follow the agreements to sustain the cattle production in our areas”, he said.
