DA-CV Relaunches Malasakit Help Desk
A convenient access to services, programs and projects for the farmers relaunches today, February 14, 2019, inside the Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas (DA-CV) in Maguikay, Mandaue City.
Dubbed as "Malasakit Help Desk", this combines all existing similar services of the agency into one assistance counter and will embody public service that is accessible, effective, and handled with ‘malasakit’ or genuine concern.
Regional Technical Director for Operations Marina Hermoso said that the "Malasakit Help Desk" is the agency's first line of defense of information. She encouraged assigned employee to really entertain clients and provide them with their needs. "We have already that kind of services - the so-called Public Assistance Center (PAC). We are very sincere with our assistance counter because of Citizen's Charter. This help desk is an improved version of the PAC", Hermoso said.
Regional Technical Director Joel Elumba also said that Malasakit, in layman's term or vernacular is referred to "pag-amuma". We will help and provide the services needed by our farmers.
Lou G. Cabalde, Chairman of Regional Agricultural and Fisheries Council 7, who attended the re-launching activity, expressed its full support to the center. He added that it is a very welcome development.
The Help Desk will serve as an integrated window for selected services of the DA, including its bureaus, attached agencies and corporations. It complements the Public Assistance Center located in all DA offices as required by Republic Act 9485 otherwise known as the "Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007.”
The re-launching of the center is done simultaneously throughout the various DA regional offices in the country.
