CV farmers earn close to P700k from Kadiwa

Farmers of Central Visayas earned close to P700 thousand pesos during the official launching of the Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita (Kadiwa).

The Kadiwa which was officially launched in Bohol and Cebu last week, is a marketing strategy of the Department of Agriculture to bring fresh farm produce to the local community sans middlemen during this enhanced community quarantine.

Atty. Salvador Diputado, regional executive director of DA Central Visayas said that for two days only, Bohol farmers earned P390,193 from the sales of their agri produce, while Cebu farmers got P302,086 with a combined sales of P692,279.

In Bohol, the Kadiwa on Wheels was officially launched in Dauis Municipal Hall and is scheduled to hit other municipalities of the province every week.

The Cebu Kadiwa is now on its regular schedule every Thursday and Friday at the DA7 complex, Maguikay, Mandaue City.

The Kadiwa sells fresh agri produce direct from the farmers like vegetables, fruits, poultry and fishery products, among others. This is organized by the Department of Agriculture 7 in collaboration with the respective Offices of the Provincial, Municipal Agriculturist.
