PRESIDENT CARLOS P. GARCIA, BOHOL - DA7 Regional Executive Director Salvador D. Diputado turned over P1,800,000 check to Mayor Fernando Estavilla of this town on June 1, 2020.

The amount is intended for the integrated carabao-based production project of the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) project of the Department of Agriculture 7 (DA7).
“The project will benefit 180 farmers from the six identified barangays of the municipality. The beneficiaries were very happy to know of the financial assistance from the government,” Diputado shared.
He added that Mayor Estavilla together with the beneficiaries expressed its deep appreciation to Secretary William Dar for the DA’s continued support to the food production program of the town.
DA7 SAAD Focal Person Aurea Madrio explained that there were 30 farmers from the six barangays being identified to qualify as beneficiaries of the project per guidelines of the SAAD. “The integrated carabao-based production is seen to reduce the cost of farm production, since the farmers will no longer hire draft animals to assist them in the land preparation.
The overall goal of the project is to reduce poverty incidence of the municipality,” Madrio added. The barangays covered of the project are Baud, Bogo, Campamanug, Canmangao, Kabankalan, & San Jose.
To ensure transparency of the project, SAAD7 staff validated, profiled and geotagged the beneficiaries. Madrio shared that this funding is supposed to be transferred to the said LGU in 2019, however due to some liquidation concerns of previous DA projects, this has only been done today.
SAAD is another project of DA that is seen to influence farmers to become more productive members of the society and good partners in attaining food sufficiency program of the government through their farm production
