Another Bohol LGUs receive SAAD inputs

In a recent turnover of farmers' assistance, the Department of Agriculture (DA7) delivered another heads of carabao and fertilizers to the beneficiaries of the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) program in the municipalities of Buenavista and Getafe in Bohol.

"SAAD which means 'promise' in the visayan dialect, holds true to its promise to help alleviate the living condition of the marginalized farmers, and the promise of Secretary William Dar on food security," said Atty. Salvador Diputado, DA7 regional executive director, during the distribution of the said assistance.

Buenavista Mayor Atty. Dave Duallo on behalf of the farmer-beneficiaries, warmly and happily accepted the 480 sacks of fertlizers under the SAAD program of DA7.

Last March 2020, farmer-beneficiaries of Buenavista also received their allocation of 60 heads of carabaos.

Mayor Duallo expressed his gratitude to DA particularly Secretary William Dar for actively supporting his food production program and commited to fully support the DA Secretary's Plant, Plant, Plant Program.

In Getafe, Mayor Casey Shaun Camacho witnessed the turnover of 60 female carabaos, carabao feeds package and fertilizer amounting to 2.1 million pesos plus.
Mayor Camacho concured with Secretary William Dar that food security is indeed an important component in the fight against COVID.

Bohol 2nd district Congressman Erico Aristotle Aumentado and Governor Arthur Yap, through his representative, who were present in the distribution of inputs, thanked Secretary William Dar for the various agriculture interventions that are poured into Bohol and the 2nd district, delivered right into the doorsteps of the farmers who are now the country’s food frontliners.

SAAD is another program of DA aimed to help alleviate poverty among the marginalized farmers and fishers. In Central Visayas, it covers the provinces of Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor.
