Officials of the Department of Agriculture (DA7) and the National Irrigation Administration (NIA7) recently collaborated to jointly develop a part of the Ubay Stock Farm into a rice production area.

NIA7 Engr. Orencio Apale and its engineering team met with the DA7 team last week to discuss the project design and layout of the area.
DA7 Regional Executive Director Atty. Salvador D. Diputado who led the DA7 team disclosed that 15.27 hectares of land in the Ubay Stock Farm will be exclusively devoted to rice production.
He explained that the joint collaboration between DA7 and NIA7 will be the first ever food production program that will be undertaken in the Ubay Stock Farm in compliance to the directives of Secretary William Dar under his Food Resiliency Program.
Diputado stressed that in a discussion with NIA-7 Regional Irrigation Manager Wilson Lopez, DA will provide the funds for land levelling and road construction while NIA will implement and provide technical supervision.
"This joint project is DA and NIA’s special gift to the Boholanos amid the pandemic," He said.
The Ubay Stock Farm in Bohol is one of the biggest livestock farm of the Department of Agriculture with an area of more than 3,000 hectares.###
