Employees of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 7 (DA7) pledged to support a Good Governance and Corruption-Free agency.

Their commitment was manifested by signing the Good Governance and Corruption-Free DA wall on August 28, 2020 during a simple signing ceremony held at the office complex in Mandaue City.
DA7 Regional Executive Director (RED) Atty. Salvador D. Diputado in his opening statement emphasized the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards of a public servant as a guiding principle in the practice of good governance and no-corruption in the bureaucracy.
“We all have the responsibility to lead by example in the fight against corruption in the agency, and uphold the standard of good governance,” he said in a mix of english and cebuano.
DA7 RED, division chiefs, and all employees present simultaneously raised their right hand and recited the pledge on good governance and no-to-corruption.
The ceremony was followed by all employees signing the tarpaulin wall signifying their support to the call of Agriculture Secretary William Dar on good governance.
Diputado bared that the pledge was born during their remote Management Committee (ManCom) meeting on August 18, 2020 where Secretary William D. Dar reminded all DA employees to take responsibility of all its actions and serve the Filipino people especially the farmers and fisherfolk with utmost integrity and competence.
“Secretary Dar challenged all DA officials and rank-and-file employees of the regional offices nationwide to conscientiously practice good governance,” Diputado said.
Diputado also called on the employees of the region to do their share to enhance the office financial performance by taking responsibility of clearing their concerned papers or transactions prior to their retirement to avoid backlogs.
This call on good governance and corruption-free agency is made as the DA embarks in the fast tracking of implementation of various food security programs amid this health crisis. These programs include, plant, plant, plant, and the distribution of financial aid to qualified marginal farmers of the agriculture sector, among others.
The activity ushered the “Good Governance, No-to-Corruption” advocacy campaign of the DA.###
