Farmers in Valencia, Negros Oriental are now feeling easy in their farm production activities, after they received a multi-cultivator machine from the Department of Agriculture (DA7) on September 16, 2020.

The multi-cultivator machine is designed to perform multiple farming tasks such as for weeding, hilling up, double-row tilling and furrow forming.

DA-7 Regional Executive Director Atty. Salvador Diputado said that the DA is distributing this type of machinery to assist farmers in their farm labor for enhanced agricultural development and food production of the region.

"Agriculture Secretary William Dar has put prime concern for the provision of assistance to the farmers to improve their farming practices and livelihood," Diputado said.

Farmer-beneficiaries of the project were happy to learn that because of this type of machinery they will minimize the use of manual method of farming or the use of carabaos to cultivate the land.

The machinery which costs P384,000 was turned over to the farmer-beneficiaries of barangay Balili, Valencia, Negros Oriental.

This project is part of Secretary William Dar’s plant plant plant program under the High Value Crops Development and Gulayan sa Barangay Programs.
The turnover ceremony was attended by the local officials and staff of the DA-Provincial Agriculture Technology Coordinating Office (PATCO) headed by Sarah Perocho.
