Guihulngan, Negros Oriental farmers thank DA for P2.7M 4WD Tractor

Members of the Kapunungan sa Makugihong Mag-uuma sa Trinidad (KMMT) in barangay Trinidad, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental were overwhelmed with gratitude after they personally received the 4WD 90HP Tractor costing P2.7 million from the Department of Agriculture (DA7).

"Sir Secretary William Dar, nagpasalamat ako kanimo nga first time gyud namo kining nadawat gikan sa gobyerno ug gikan kanimo, dese siete na ka tuig kining among kapunongan ug nadawat na gayud namo kining traktora," Mr. Luis Caban, president of the KMMT said.

(Thank you Secretary William Dar that we received this first time from the government and from you; our association is already 17 years, and now we finally got this tractor).

Mayor Carlo Jorge Reyes and his father, Vice Mayor Ernesto Reyes of Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental liberally heaped praises and thanks to Secretary William Dar for the 4-wheel drive 90 HP Tractor that the DA donates to the Kapunungan sa Makugihong Mag-uuma sa Trinidad (KMMT).

"This is also DA’s active intervention to support RPSC (Retooled Community Support Program) to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC): Serbisyo Caravan, not only to peacefully resolve armed insurgency in the area but also to optimize farm yield of Guihulngan’s corn and cassava farmers," Atty. Salvador Diputado, DA7 regional executive director said.

The members of the KMMT were also in chorus in expressing their gratitude to DA Secretary for the interventions received.

The tractor with attached implements can perform various tasks in the field such as land preparation, planting and harvesting which reduced the manual labor.
The turnover ceremony was held on September 18, 2020 in barangay Trinidad, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.
