Corn farmers in Bohol receive DA's cash and food subsidy

Some 178 corn farmers from the eight municipalities of Bohol received the cash and food assistance of the Department of Agriculture (DA).

Regional Executive Director Salvador Diputado of DA-Central Visayas (DA7) with Roman Dabalos, DA7's Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer (APCO) of Bohol led the distribution of assistance.

Diputado, in his message during the distribution, reminded the beneficiaries to use the cash assistance wisely like additional support to their livelihood.

The beneficiaries are from the municipalities of Balilihan, Catigbi-an, Corella, Antequera, Dauis, Cortes, Sikatuna and Buenavista.

The assistance of P5,000 is under the Cash and Food Subsidy for Marginal Farmers and Fishers (CFSMFF) Program of DA funded under the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act (Bayanihan 2) as support to the farmers and fisherfolks during this pandemic.

Each qualified beneficiary receives P3,000 cash and P2,000 worth of food items which include rice, dressed chicken and eggs to be supplied by the Bayanihan Cooperative.

A second batch of distribution will follow for other municipalities.
