DA7 turns over irrigation project in NegOr
The Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas (DA-7) turns over a diversion dam (DD) worth P 4,889,067.80 to the Pinocawan Farmer Association in Tayasan, Negros Oriental.
The irrigation project is in response to the water supply problem of the farmers in the area and is expected to irrigate some 24 hectares riceland,
Pinocawan Farmer Association President Jeson Carinal expressed his gratitude to DA for the irrigation project as this will help address the lack of water supply for their farms.
"Daku gyud nakong pasalamat nga gidungog intawon ang among gipangayo nga patubig kay kinahanglan gyud kaau ni sa among pagpanguma. Daku kaayo ning ikatabang sa pagpataas sa among abot. Karon nga abunda nami sa tubig mas magmadasigon ug mas makugihon pa kami sa among trabaho”, Carinal said.

Having enough supply of water for our farms, we will strive and work harder)Tayasan Municipal Mayor Engr. Susano L. Ruperto Jr. encouraged the 235 member of the association and other farmers to take good care of the project by conducting regular monitoring to ensure good condition of the project . He also urges the farmers to adapt the new farming technologies to increase their production and income.
DA7's Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer (APCO) of Negros Oriental Sarah J. Perocho encouraged the farmers to continue tilling their land for them to produce more food. She sadi that DA will always ne at their side, giving support to their farming needs for them to attain an increase in yield.
