In consonance with the ONE-DA strategy, the Department of Agriculture in Central Visayas (DA7) held today the Province-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension System (PAFES) Orientation-Workshop.

Atty. Salvador Diputado, DA7 Regional Executive Director said that the event conducted during today's local non-working holiday aimed on the Preparation of the Collaborative Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Program (CAFEP) Plan CY 2022-2024 in the region.
He added that PAFES is one of the key strategies of the ONE-DA framework espoused by Agriculture Secretary William Dar in order to optimize agricultural modernization.
"Among others, PAFES will mainstream the implementation of agricultural programs in the provinces and will pave the way to a strong collaboration between DA, LGU, state universities and colleges and the private sector in the delivery of agriculture services," Diputado said.
PAFES will be institutionalized to bring agriculture extension services to the grassroots level amid the challenges of devolution.
In Central Visayas, PAFES has been on pilot preparatory activities in the Province of Negros Oriental and soon in Bohol, Cebu and Siquijor.
The PAFES is in preparation for the full implementation of the Mandanas Ruling of the Supreme Court to fully capacitate the local government units (LGUs) in the delivery of agricultural services to its constituents.
Local officials of DA7 attended the orientation in a hotel in Cebu City.
