With the Great Women Project 2 (GWP2) about to end the implementation this year (2022), the Embassy of Canada through Canadian Ambassador to the Philippines Honorable Peter MacArthur and Senior Trade Commissioner Guy Boileau paid a visit to Cebu last week to meet with the GWP2 partner agencies and some enrolled women entrepreneurs.

Officials from partner agencies in a close meeting with the Ambassador were Department of Agriculture-7 (DA7) Regional Executive Director Joel Elumba and Regional Technical Director Wilberto Castillo; Department of Science and Technology (DOST7) Regional Director Jesus Zamora and Assistant Director Sam Parcon; Department of Trade and Industry (DTI7) Regional Technical Director Esperanza Melgar and GWP Focal Person Marilyn Tancinco.

The Philippine Commission on Women-Women Economic Empowerment (PCW WEE) Project Manager Caroline Grace Pedragoza and Shernes Alcantara also attended the said meeting.

Five assisted WMEs also presented and shared their experiences as well as issues and concerns/challenges they encountered during pandemic. Products were showcased in an exhibits, which they (Embassy) were happy with the results of the GWP2 activities implemented.
