DA-RFO7, RED Joel Elumba turns over P2M van to CEMVEDCO

The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 7, OIC Regional Executive Director, Joel Elumba, turns over a more than P2M reefer van to the Cebu Market Vendors Multipurpose Cooperative (CEMVEDCO), today. According to the chair of the CEMVEDCO, Erwin Gok-ong Sr., the reefer van is a necessity of their cooperative as most members are into meat processing.

Gok-ong further said that, fifty percent of CEMVEDCO members are small farmers and are being benefitted of the DA's grants such as the reefer van. He said when a portion of the value chain is subsidized, it brings down the prices of the products sold by CEMVEDCO, at the same time creating an auxilliary income to the small producers.
