Bohol Rice Farmers Receive 5K Each From DA7
According to regional technical director, Cirilo Namoc, 4,416 rice farmers in Bohol received P5T each totalling more than P22 M under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund- Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RCEF-RFFA).
The roll out started yesterday, January 26 and will extend until tomorrow, January 28,2022. RTD Namoc added that the delay was due to the slow internet connectivity in Bohol.
Oscar Hilot, a farmer beneficiary of the DA7 expressed his gratefulness for the cash subsidy. He said that cash is a necessity nowadays, especially that most farmers are affected by the slowing down of the economy due to the pandemic, though the assistance was intended to assist rice farmers who are badly affected by the implementation of the rice tarrification law ( RTL).
The RFFA was launched by the government to compensate the income loss of rice farmers due to the drop in the farmgate price to P13 per kilo resulting from the RTL implementation.
