Two-farmer associations with 35 members will receive a livelihood package from the Balik Probinsya program of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 7, in May 2022. To ensure the success of the program, the farmers from Bagay, Daanbantayan, were recently briefed by AMIA focal Fabio Enriquez. Each member will receive P50T worth of livestock, and agricultural inputs such as seeds, feeds, and farm tools.

Included in the briefing is the distribution scheme, wherein each member will return 16 percent of the income derived from selling his animals. Further, they will likewise return three farrows and three kids to the association for other members to follow suit.

The DA technicians will be providing technical support to the beneficiaries of the project to ensure a successful enterprise. The Balik Probinsya program requires all recipients to be registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture.

The Department of Agriculture is one of the agencies tasked to provide sustainable livelihood programs through equity in resources to boost countryside development under the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa program.
