PRDP's abattoir project in Siqujor undergoes JIT

The construction of an AA Abattoir in Barangay Nonoc, Larena, Siquijor is now at 54.4 percent completion based on the joint inspection report of the technical engineers from the Regional Project Coordination Office 7 (RPCO 7), Project Support Office Visayas (PSO-Visayas) and the National Project Coordination Office (NPCO).

The P33.48M facility is expected to increase the local beef's competitive value and reach full appreciation in the high-end market.

Currently, supplies of local beef is limited within the local markets.

With the construction of the facility, consumers are assured that supplies of meat are of quality, safe and clean, as proper slaughtering practices are being observed.

The facility also supports other PRDP enterprise projects implemented in the province like the Beef Choice Cuts Marketing Enterprise and the Cattle Fattening and Marketing Enterprise of the Catulayan Community Multi-purpose Cooperative and the Alang sa Tanan Multi-purpose Cooperative, respectively. Aside, it will also caters the slaughtering of hogs.
