DA-7 turns over P12-M irrigation project in Carmen, Bohol

The Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas (DA7) formally turned over the Small Water Impounding Project (SWIP) to the Montevilla Small Farmers Irrigators Association of Brgy. Montesuerte, Carmen, Bohol.

DA7 OIC-Regional Executive Director Joel Elumba, personally handed the symbolic key to the association president Julieto Mejorada, with the local officials witnessing the acceptance of the project.

The irrigation facility, with a project cost of P12.3 million will benefit 53 rice farmers who are members of the said association and is expected to irrigate some 50 hectares rice areas.

With a reservoir volume of 310,200 cubic meters of water, this will help boost the rice production in the area.

The association was grateful for the project as this ensure enough water supply for their ricefields.
