To institute reforms and help improve the delivery of services within the Department of Agriculture (DA) family, the DA-Philippine Rural Development Project-Regional Project Coordinating Office 7 (PRDP RPCO7) I-PLAN Component spearheaded an orientation and training workshop on the use of PRDP tools to the DA7’s Regional Management Committee (RMC) member agencies.

The activity is part of the mainstreaming efforts of integrating the PRDP tools, processes and innovations into the regular operations and various programs and projects of the RMC agencies.

DA7’s Regional Technical Director and the RPCO 7 Deputy Project Director, Engr. Cirilo Namoc, said PRDP is using science-based tools and innovations in the implementation of their proposed subprojects that can be institutionalized and mainstreamed across the programs and projects of DA and its attached agencies.
“PRDP tools are not just simple tools, but these are science-based tools that will help identify and recommend suitable projects for implementation in the local level”, he said.

Among the tools introduced include Expanded Vulnerability and Suitability Analysis (EVSA), Geographic Information System (GIS) Mapping, Value Chain Analysis (VCA) and Provincial Commodity Investment Plan (PCIP), among others.
