DA7 OIC Regional Executive Director Joel Elumba, together with Regional Technical Director (RTD) Wilberto Castillo and Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) Chief Petronila Corpuz, led the KADIWA opening, to be held on December 12-13, 2022.

The KADIWA ng Pasko project will give local farmers the opportunities to market their produce, at the same time provide the consumers access to fresh and affordable agri-fishery products.

Consumers can buy a kilo of rice at P 25.00 from the National Food Authority (NFA) stall and a kilo of bangus at P 140.00 from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).

Other products like vegetables and fruits are also sold at cheaper price compared to other markets.

In an interview with Director Elumba, the KADIWA, he said has been institutionalized, with the presence of the KADIWA on Wheels and KADIWA Stores.

The KADIWA ng PASKO projects, also aims to address inflation, thus providing the consumers with affordable agri-fishery products especially this coming holiday season, Elumba said.

Aside from the 2 government agencies who displayed their products, some 11 farmer cooperatives and associations (FCAs) also participated in the KADIWA ng Pasko.

These FCAs are the Cambinocot Multi-purpose Cooperative, Lamac Multipurpose Cooperative, Pestales Agriculture Cooperative, Compostela Market Vendors Multipurpose Cooperative, First Consolidated Cooperative Along Tanon Seaboards (FCCT), Highland Fresh, Macaban Kakaw Krayolo and Lubi-Netibo Agriculture Cooperative, Sogod Federation of Farmers Association and Fisherfolk Association, Cebu Province Mushroom Growers Agriculture Cooperative, Carson Hills Agriculture Farm, GRND UP Goods Trading, among others.

Meanwhile, DA7’s Bohol Agricultural Promotion Center (B-APC) will also hold their KADIWA ng Pasko (Pamaskong Tabo) on December 13-14, 2022 inside the B-APC Grounds.
