Some 1,216 corn farmers from Cebu, Bohol and Siquijor received their fertilizer subsidy from the Department of Agriculture-Central Visayas (DA7) last year (as of December 2022), with a total amount of P 2.423 million.

Funded under the DA’s Corn Program, each corn farmer received a P2,000.00 worth of inorganic fertilizer voucher and claimed on-site the corresponding quantity of fertilizers from the accredited fertilizer merchants, who were around during the actual voucher distribution.

Of the 1,216 corn beneficiaries, 722 were from Cebu, 318 from Bohol and 176 from Siquijor.

The last leg of the voucher distribution will be in Negros Oriental to be done this coming months.

The qualified corn farmer beneficiaries were users of NSIC-registered corn varieties, members of the corn clusters, duly registered in the Registry System for Basic Sector in Agriculture (RSBSA) and whose names were reflected in the National Farmers’ and Fishers Registry System.
