DA-NOAP turnover of Certificate of Accreditation to OFPRAB

The Department of Agriculture -National Organic Agriculture Program (DA-NOAP) turned over the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) Certificate of Accreditation of the Organic Farmer-Practitioners Association of Bayawan City (OFPRAB). The Department of Agriculture -National Organic Agriculture Program (DA-NOAP) headed by Program Director Bernadette San Juan and the Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (BAFS) representative Ronald John Lamano turned over the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) Certificate of Accreditation of the Organic Farmer-Practitioners Association of Bayawan City (OFPRAB) to City Mayor John T. Raymond, Jr., which he handed to OFRAB President Warlito Magdasal together with the accredited core members, today (March 13, 2023) here in Bayawan City.

The certificate will cover crop production, animal production, aquaculture, and processing for milled rice. It will have a validity of 5 years or until February 2028.
With the issued accreditation as PGS organic certifying body (OCB), OFPRAB members can now issue PGS certificates to farmers within the province subject to their assessment, evaluation and field validation.

OFPRAB is the 6th accredited PGS-OCB in the country, the 1st issued accreditation for this year (2023), 1st PGS group of Central Visayas and in Negros Oriental.
