Agriculture Secretary Proceso J. DA Provides Antipolo P1.5-M Farm Implements, Inputs

Agriculture Secretary Proceso J. Alcala (middle) awarded farmers of Antipolo City P1.5-million worth of farm implements, rice and vegetable seeds and other inputs (foreground) during a Farmers’ Congress, on March 30, 2012, at the Boso-Boso Highland Resort and Convention Center. At the forum, he encouraged Mayor Danilo Leyble (2nd from right) to enlist Antipolo as one of the coverage areas under the Central Philippines Rural Development Program (CPRDP) being proposed for funding by the World Bank (WB). The CPRDP will be patterned after the successful WB-funded Mindanao Rural Development Program (MRDP) that entails the establishment of farm and fishery production and livelihood projects, and construction of irrigation systems, farm-to-market roads, and postharvest and trading facilities. DA-NIA Allots P35m to Irrigate Sablayan Penal Farm

The Department of Agriculture through the National Irrigation Administration (DA-NIA) will construct in April 2012 a P35-million irrigation system at the Sablayan Penal Farm (SPF) in Occidental Mindoro that will irrigate 200 hectares and directly benefit 125 farm-families.
